The Karolyi Foundation has sheltered the exhibition Popos d'Europe 7 Paris-Budapest in Hungary in 2008.
Propos d'Europe 7 created the condtions of the meeting between young French and Hungarian artists that had been chosen by their recognized predecessors : Basserole, Jean Daviot and Marc Desgranchamps for the French, Zoltan Sebestyen, alias Mucius, for the Hungarians.
Thanks to this partnership, the Hippocrene Foundation has initiated its involvement in the building up of a network of European foundations that have the will and the means to host exhibitions. The point is to permit the exhibition to be carried on in another place and thus to attract different visitors, to enable the artists to show their works with their foreign counterparts fully on their own and to create links between various foundations by connecting their projects and their local relations.
The Joseph Karolyi Foundation was set up in 1994 on the initiative of the family of the former owners who created on the site a Cultural Encounter Center affiliated to the network which has the same name, thus permitting the rehabilitation and the conservation of this great historic building and developing a dynamic cultural project of public interest which legitimates the restoration itself and ensures the perpetuation of the action.
